Section 6 of the current Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV) requires that every healthcare facility with more than 20 employees on a regular basis must ensure that a competent and reliable person with medical, scientific, nursing, pharmaceutical or technical training is appointed as the medical device safety officer.
This applies from 01.01.2017 without a transitional period.
In our clinic, Mr. Olaf Saager has been appointed as "Medical Device Safety Officer".
